Working in our Therapeutic Children’s Homes and supporting children attending our Independent Therapeutic SEMH School, your primary role is to be the Manager of the Home and assume management oversight and responsibility for all aspects of the running of the Home whenever the Registered Manager is not available. You will contribute to the work of the Leadership Team of The Lioncare Group, assist the Registered Manager in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, liaise with placing authorities and other agencies and professionals, support and line manage and supervise and lead the practice of your colleagues in the team, and work collaboratively with Senior Leaders and all Registered Managers/Headteacher and colleagues across the organisation in safeguarding the children in our care and promoting their growth and development through delivering our therapeutic practice approach. You will have specific duties and responsibilities for ensuring that the Home is run and operated safely and in compliance with requirements of legislation and regulation, that the children living in the Home are cared for and educated to the highest standards, and that they make progress and thrive.

To achieve this, you will;

  • Effectively and appropriately take shared responsibility for leading, managing, monitoring, and developing the Children’s Home in which you are based.
  • Share appropriate and delegated responsibility for improving the therapeutic practice and provision offered by The Lioncare Group, and promoting all aspects of the Home as a ‘facilitating environment’ conducive to therapeutic thinking and practice.
  • Assist the Registered Manager and Senior Leaders in implementing the Home’s agreed Improvement Plan to ensure the continual development of the Quality of Care provided by the Home.
  • Offer and provide the appropriate and necessary support to the Registered Manager and other Managers, the Headteacher, and members of the Leadership Team and Executive Team.
  • Involve yourself in processes related to safer recruitment, staffing induction and continuous professional development, legislation and regulation, managing finances and budgets, and efficient use of resources.
  • Provide the necessary support to colleagues to ensure they consistently and reliably meet the emotional, safeguarding, social, psychological, educational, and academic needs of the children looked after by the Home and across the whole of The Lioncare Group.
  • Appropriately liaise and interact with all colleagues across the organisation and wider external networks to ensure effective communication & promote positive and harmonious working relationships.

Starting basic salary range (15.04.21 to 14.04.22):

  • £26,929.00 [£12.95 per hour] (new to the role)
  • £27,535.00 [£13.24 per hour] (some prior experience in the role)
  • £28,154.00 [£13.54 per hour] (regular prior experience in the role)
  • £28,850.00 [£13.87 per hour] (substantial prior experience & qualifications – discretionary)

Also:

  • Special bank-holiday bonus
  • Regular salary progression currently up to £32,594.00 [£15.67 per hour].
